The first picture looks as though some wheel bearing grease might have leaked out, which is bad; if it is excess grease from the speedometer, that is a minor issue, but it would be good to be certain that the speedo is properly greased, to avoid costly repairs, as well. I'd suggest taking it to your mechanic, if you are not comfortable working on it yourself.

If you clean it, and no more grease appears, it could indicate there is no problem, but it could also indicate the bearings are void of grease -- none left to leak out! It is a safety issue, which should be checked out by someone qualified -- either yourself, or a professional. Cheers!
