fairing shake when hit bumps

Post by otts »

Hello

This is my first post. I have had and 88 for 5 years, love the bike. I have changed to progressive front and rear. My bike rides and feels great on the smooth pavement. Just did 1000 miles and felt good however when I hit a bump or small city street pothole (Chicago streets) the bike seems to bang and fairing shakes. Is this normal or do I have an issue. Will a change in front fork oil make a difference? I thing 10wt is in there now.

Thanks

My '99 started doing that this year with the roads around here getting less maintenance[rougher], and I found dropping my front tire pressure from 34 to 32 lets the tire absorb a little more of the roads bumps and the fairing is much quieter :hmm:

Thanks I will try that. I just changed fork oil to Mobile ATF synthetic, supposed to be around 7wt. It is much better around town now.
