Problem with noise suppressor on radio

I own a 1999 Voyager and have just got back my Clarion radio from Sierra Electronics after they repaired the LED face and another problem, the radio would change stations at will and not be able to change back. Also the cassette player would change sides constantly, which can be annoying. I reinstalled the radio and have another problem, when I hookup the noise suppressor box I have no control of the radio or the cassette. If I bypass the box everything works fine. My question, do I need this box and can I bypass it with no problem. The tech at Sierra says there shouldn't be a problem, but I thought I'd put the question to my Voyager friends and see what you think. Has anyone had a problem like this and what was your solution. You only need the box if you have a CB fitted..
Even then, you many not need it..
However, if you want use it,. there is a section On this site, that documents how that filter is wired up..

Should have sent the radio to me, could have done all that and fitted the MP3
