Got my new Dunlop Elite 3 tires on and mounted this evening. Hope they feel better than the junk Kenda Kruz that were on it. The Kenda's wandered all over the road and did not feel good cornering. Now we need some warm weather here in the Quad Cities so I can ride. By the way if anyone wants some free tires(kenda's) that are fairly new let me know.

Congrats on the new tires! Wish I could afford a set of E3s! I'm up in the La Crosse WI area and would take the Kendas off your hands. I have E2s that are fine in terms of wear but are very old, ride like heck and are really noisy. Was it hard to break down the tires? It's been a long time since I've swapped out bike tires.

Always remember guys, the tires are the only thing that keep your butt off the highway. Yeah performance is important on a motorcycle, even more so than a car because the tires have to work more. Before I would commit myself to riding any motorcycle I would invest in new tires that are designed to do the job. Fresh rubber is better by a mile than old rubber and tires without tread are useless. Make sure they are designed for weight of the machine and Voyager is a heavy bike. I used to use Chinese Sheng Chins on my GS1000 years ago and have a broken wrist to remind me of it when they didn't corner like they should have.

For what it's worth, when I got my new E3's mounted the shop warned me that they may not have 100% traction for the first 100 miles. Apparently the mold release from the manufacturing process has to wear off before they will get full bite. I rode carefully for the 100 miles mishap free. I don't press the limits of my tires anyway....other than the weight limit!

Enjoy your new treads, I like mine so far. It had old Dunlop 40? when I bought it. The E3's ride better but I can't attest to thier stickiness yet as I haven't pushed them that hard.

I have an 8 inch bench vise and I use that to break the bead seals on most bike tires. Then I use good old tire irons to change em. Been doing it like that for bout 30yrs. Weather is looking decent for sat and sun so maybe I will get to try em out.
