Well, I felt like les than a newbie on this one... I had the task of replacing my speedo gear and cable. So I went to the service manual and studied the instructions. Removing the wheel (and associated items) went fine. It was when I was reinstalling the rotor covers with the spacer and on the speedo gear side the other rotor cover. For me it was a 2 man operation. Now I've done front wheels, tires, brakes, almost in my sleep, with my other bike but this one challenged me... :grr:
Any helpful tips out there to help make this to smoother the next time?
Thanks in advance! (I did get the job done to finally...)

Re: Tips on front wheel install with metal rotor covers
I use tape to hold the RH side in place to the forkleg. Not perfect but it helps, similar to a 3rd hand.
As for the speedo side, that is a real pita with the cable installed, but once the axle spindle starts to go through the wheel, it sort of frees up one hand to align the tabs etc etc.
For those who haven't discovered it yet, the Voyager XII Tech Tips, Accessories, has an original sheet for the rotor cover install, and other accessories once available.

Thanks Dave, I will check that out.... Wow, did you ever slap yourself in the head when you realized someone had an instruction written somewhere??? I could have saved much frustration.
