Hey All,
just got my first Voyager XII about a month ago, A '95 with 28,000 mi.
been going over the whole bike .I noticed some cracks by the mounting bolts on the front fender.
wont know how bad till I take it off, any tips or things I should know about, Can I glue or epoxy if it comes off in pieces. Other than that the bike is great, though is a little rough at idle it is smooth at road speeds , I suspect the fuel filter as I already drained carbs and synced them.
thanks for any help in advance.

Re: front fender issue
Once a fender cracks it seems to be hard to stop. I tried different things with mine, all to no avail. A new or used front fender will probably be in your future. Also, don't forget to replace the front fender washer/shims as they compress and don't do their job once that happens- don't overtighten.

Re: front fender issue
If it comes off in peaces ABS pipe cement works vary well to repair that
If it's just cracked I have had success with a 25 watt soldering iron to melt it back to 1 pc.
you may need some scrap ABS plastic to use as a filler.

Re: front fender issue
Is there a danger of it coming off or is it more of a cosmetic and annoying rattle on big bumps issue?

Re: front fender issue
ABS Pipe Glue/Cement is ABS plastic suspended in a solvent: when the solvent evaporates, only ABS plastic is left behind. I have used it to repair two Vetter fairings, as well as make repairs on the plastics of my '93 Voyager XII. I even used masking tape, over a void, painting on the ABS Cement over the void, and onto the surrounding plastic. When it dried, I removed the tape, and it left new plastic in the void; the tape's glue left the ABS Cement with a rough finish, but it worked otherwise. If you let it air-dry, without touching the surface, it will dry to a high gloss finish, but this means you don't mold, or shape it, with anything. Cheers!
