I posted this question in the Tech Tips section for the XII (1200) and though i would post it here to maybe get a wider response and more opinions.

Anybody have a view on the Xenon bulb vs LED bulb for a headlight replacement?
Been reading up on both.. of course they both say they are "better" than the other...
Anyone using one or the other (or maybe tried both) have an opinion?

Re: xenon vs LED headlight
Xenon bulbs do get quite hot so Im not sure if the fixture is rated for that sort of heat.
LED may be a better choice plus it draws alot less power and is just as bright.

Re: xenon vs LED headlight
I wondered about the heat.. i see alot of the LED's i have looked at have fans built into the base.Tonyvdb wrote:Xenon bulbs do get quite hot so Im not sure if the fixture is rated for that sort of heat.

I have been looking at this one on E-bay...

The old version of this bulb used 40watt this new version uses 30watt with 3600 lumens.
From what i have read on the base fan, it just recycles the air in the headlight housing.
