I have to attack changing the choke cable. Is there any tech tips on this and how big & hard a job is it going to be?
Thanks in advance to anyone that replies.

Re: Choke Cable
I've changed out the choke cable on my Kawasaki ZRX1100, it wasn't that hard, required removal of the tank. I suspect the Voyager may even be easier since the fake tank is easier to come off. Just pay attention to the original routing before you get started with disassembly.

Re: Choke Cable
Timmer,
I did mine last summer with the help of others from this family. I took the fairing off (front and left side) as well as both side covers and false tank. Like Mr Jensee says pay very close attention to the routing and be extremely careful when you loosen the screw on the carbs. Only loosen it enough to get the end of the cable out, if you have a larger hands it might be good to have someone around to help (my youngest daughter is my lil-helper {now 16 and hungry to learn/help}).
I'll check around and if I can find any pictures I'll post them for you. Carl Leo advised that I soak the new cable in a bucket of old oil for about an hour before installing it. I did and I have to say the choke moves smooth as silk, but know that it will take a few minutes to drain out the oil before you start so plan your time accordingly.
Do everything methodically and if you aren't sure if you'll remember which screw goes where do like I do and put them right back where they came out of till it's time to reassemble.

Re: Choke Cable
I just replaced my choke cable about 3 weeks ago. Not a hard job. I did not remove any fairing parts or loosen any carb screws as Scott has stated. Unhooked the cable from the handlebar housing, unhooked cable from carb end, made notice of correct routing when removing old cable and followed same path when inserting new cable. It's a little tight hooking the new cable in the plastic housing but with needle nose plies in can be done. Be patient and you will succeed.
