Trunk Center Running & Brake Light Conversion
I have a 2002 Voyager XII. I just put it away in the shed for the winter season. I removed the truck light assy and want to do the Trunk Light
conversion over the winter. I have done the rear fender light. Does anyone have detailed instructions with pictures on how to do this conversion with running and brake lights for the center of the trunk light. Standard 1157 bulbs would not work due to the clearance. Thanks Kim

Re: Trunk Center Running & Brake Light Conversion
Thanks for the information. I do have a couple more questions though. Where can I purchase the LED Module and is the LED Module running and brake lights?
Thanks
Kim

Re: Trunk Center Running & Brake Light Conversion
In Bruce's article, he connected the LED's to the brake circuit, so they would not light with the both running and brake- just brake. However, you can get LED which half light for running lights, and then the other half come on with the brakes. There is also some that are called dual brightness. I'm pretty sure that Custom Dynamics has the half and half lights, and may even have the dual brightness (maybe same thing- not sure) light sets. They have lots of different configurations, so you'll just have to check them out. Their web address is linked on the AVA Related Links page.

Re: Trunk Center Running & Brake Light Conversion
Has anyone put this on a "flasher"? Flashes 3 or 4 times than goes solid? I'm wondering if I can rig up one of Larry's strips but put one of those flasher circuits/modules inline to the strip. That way not only would you have the standard brakes on or off, but also the added flasher for attention. Would there be anything special you would have to do?

hey Larry,
Can you list the ebay seller or item description for those/ I have seen them but lately when I've searched all I've gotten were the LED Light Bars for on top of emergency vehicles.

Re: Trunk Center Running & Brake Light Conversion
I just bought one of these off of eBay, now just a matter of playing around to deside where it will look and work best. If I'm happy with it I'll post pictures of it both day and night time shots.

I think David and Tom in Alabama have something similar to that on both of their Voyagers.

I have that same light Scott. I mounted it under my trunk to get it out of the elements and create a shadowed area to make the LED appear brighter to following traffic in daylight.Scott-(Altoona, PA) wrote:I just bought one of these off of eBay, now just a matter of playing around to deside where it will look and work best. Re: Trunk Center Running & Brake Light Conversion
David, thanks for the input. It makes lots of sense to place it below for those exact reasons.
Charlie, I really like that light and may in time add it as well. That way I'll be sure to be seen from behind.
Now I guess I need to look into some LED pod lights for the front and somewhere to place them so they don't look out of place. I've got a few ideas but like lots of them they sometimes go away before I get a chance to incorporate them. We'll see how it goes. I was nervous when I drilled to add the chrome plates to the fairing and saddlebags, can't imagine how bad it will feel to drill for a few more lights here and there!

Re: Trunk Center Running & Brake Light Conversion
Does anyone know where I can get this type of LED light with 2 rows of 8 LED"S?
http://www.amervoyassoc.org/Documents/T ... %20XII.pdf
I looked at several places that have trailer light LED's and all they have is 3 LED in them.

Re: Trunk Center Running & Brake Light Conversion
Well I ordered the Chameleon paint remover from http://www.chameleonproductsonline.com and I got stiffed. They never sent it and I charged it through Paypal. I have now filed a dispute through Paypal. The companies phone has also been disconnected and they do not answer E-Mails. Guess I will have to use CitriStrip. I did not like the way it worked on my fender light. White residue and looks like it crazed the plastic and distorted it in spots. Looks like no other choices unless someone else has another suggestion.
