1 - PLEXY GLASS 1/4 inch thick cut 6 inchs wide and 8 inchs tall ( need 2 of these I used clear on mine tint is optional )

2- 3/4 inch thick wood cut 2.5 inchs wide by 8.5 long ( also need 2 of these I just cut a 1 by 6 for this )

3- VICE GRIPS big enough to open to 1 and 3/4 inchs wide fairly comon size for the tool ( small sea clamp can also be used

4- 1 WOOD SCREW about 1.5 inch long ( and a screw driver of course )

5- 1 SHEET OF 80 GRIT SAND PAPER

6- 1/8 AND 3/16 INCH DRILL BITS ( 3/8 drill also comes in handy hehe )

7- This tool is optional as you can have the glass shop cut the plexy glass for you, cost for this is very cheap. But having the glass along with everything else needed . I used a 4 inch grinder with the smallest metal cutting wheel had in the garage 1/16 inch thick....

8- And this is where you need to be on the wifes good side ( THE OVEN IN THE HOUSE ) good luck here mine was gone so she never knew...

Ok if you have to buy and get plexy cut have them cut all corners at a 45 degree angle this helps in getting the factory look.

Now the next step is to take one of your pieces of wood , and wrap your sheet of 80 grit sand paper around it, and sanding the full lenth of all sides of your plexy glass , this makes sure you have a nice straight cut on edges , once all edges are straight soften the egdes as no one needs any cuts from grabbing them . ps kinda round the edges on the 45 degree cuts but go easy here as you still want the 45 look not rounded corners ( Factory look soft 45s not round corners )

Now take your two pieces of wood and stack them and drill a pilot hole 1/8 inch for your screw to go , hole should be 1/4 inch from one end of wood this will be your clamp. Now place your plexy glass between wood and tighten screw ( just snug dont tighten so much that it opens the wood ) you will see when I mean, now take your vice grips and clamp other end ....... ( make sure piece is centered ) if you have gone by the directions I've given you, there will be 1 and 3/4 inchs overhang on both sides. ps. make sure theres no sand or anything that will leave a mark between wood and glass........

Lets make your wing place in a 500 degree preheated oven 3 to 5 mins SAFER JUST TO OPEN AT WILL TO CHECK . once you see it sagging on both side remove from oven and start shaping, found it best to work the shape close to the wood this will aid in giving a nice flat surface and a nice sharp bent , you will see this after you unclamp piece. ( KEEP IN MIND ITS VERY HOT ) After shape is perfect let cool in clamps , wont take long. Remove from clamps quench with water and admire your work. All thats left to do is drill 3/16 holes in mounting locations and replace old cracked or lost wings ................

I've read of this done in other threads dont know if it was here or another site, this is my version . And it was very easy and worth the new look took 2.5 hours start to finish, total cost for me nothing as I had everything laying around the house .. If had to buy all I'm thinking 15 bucks not bad, compared to just buying new ones.........anyways thanks for read and laters .........Phil
