Power for Clock and radio memory
The power for the clock and radio memory is no longer working on my 1987 1300. I have the shop aupplement and wiring diagram. I have constant power on the red and white wire through the "g" connector. I also have constant power from that connector on the red wires going into the radio, amplifier and the audio distribution box. All the fuses shown on the wiring diagram have checked out fine. Does anybody know if there is an additional fuse inside the radio box, the amplifier or the distribution box? I am sort of at a loss and I don't want to remove or open something I don't have too. I can live with resetting the clock and radio whenever I start the bike but the mileage counter is resetting also and this is making me nuts. I know its a little thing but if anyone can help I sure would be grateful. Thanks .......... Chris.
Thanks Bill... I have not soved the problem witht he power but i am fairly convinced there is a fuse or power supply in the main audio box that has gone awry. I think I am just going to leave it alone. I bought the Voyager in January and have been having a lot of fun with it. The bike had been in a storage crate for almost 5 years and had been badly treated beforehand. It has been welll wortht the time and money I have put in it to get it on the road. I have the manuals and supplements for the bike and have asked on Yahoo as well. I appreciate your help. It is just a little inconvenience. The mileage reset was a result of a bad ground wire on that part of the chassis. I will probably take the bike apart over the winter, redothe wiring harness and really go through the rest of it very carefully. Have some things to fix in the fairning and things to clean. I have really enjoyed the voyager website and have found the posts to be extremely helpful. My bike only has 30k on it and Ihope to keep it on the road for a long time to come.
Re: Power for Clock and radio memory
I don't know if this got answered, but on the 1200 there is a fuse in the fairing behind the radio.
Hope this is some help.
