The stuff I'm hearing now is pretty much to be expected for a bike of this age. However, if you had heard the clanking, knocking, broken sound comeing from the engine last Saturday, Well, lets say I was about heart broken! I figured the engine had cratered and I was back affot. Not a pleasing sound to say the least.
Now, though, it's running like a top and the noises I hear are not real worrisome.

Re: Really bad noises...
I guess it's possible it could have been a big chunk of carbon that had broken off a valve or the piston and was rattling around the combustion chamber till they sucessfully blew it out.

Okie34,
You might also want to check the possibility that an intake or exhaust valve is hanging up intermittently in the open or partially open position. A hung open valve can be pretty noisy, particularly if you have an interferring valve train. Just for info ('cause a lot of folks don't know) an interferring valve train is one that will actually strike the top of the piston if the valve timing is off. I'm not sure if the Kaw is or is not interferring, so just throwing this out as a possibility.
