That's what some one has done to my bike before I got it. However you can't use the controls anymore on the handle bars to change the stations or correct the time on the dash clock. I only ride when the sun is shinging but I'd be the rain isn't at all any good on it. (not rain proof)

You might want to explore the idea of using a marine grade CD radio for the bike. They are more expensive but water proof.
