Does someone have a quickly accessible diagram for how to hook up the wires when removing the fader? I find lots of other interesting stuff when searching, but nothing quick and easy...
TIA

Re: Removing Faader
I pulled up my pdf copy of the audio manual but it has no schematic reference. If I remember fader controls, you have an input and two outputs. the control just shunts resistance to either side. find out which side shunts to the front speakers and splice those together to the input. There should only be + wires going to it. No grounds.
I found an image off the internet that might help. It is for a home stereo surround sound but the wiring of the fader control is esentially the same as you'd find on the Voyager. see the section under "fader"

Re: Removing Faader
I just keep my fader turned fully counter clockwise & it's like it isn't there.

Re: Removing Fader
Thanks, that was a help!Gary (Forum Admin) wrote:viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3192
I got the project done. For future reference (should someone search for this at some time in the future, here's the layout:
From amp (small connector) Front speakers -->Rear Speakers (I did not use)
Right + Red Red/Yellow Red/Blue
Right - Black/Yellow Red/Black Red/White
Left + Blue Blue/Red Blue/Yellow
Left - Black/Blue Blue/Black Blue/Green
Here's my new 12V socket replacing the Fader (Blue Sea -- rectangular plate is almost perfect size!)
Here's my new connector. I just cut the wires to the fader and crimped back together as noted above -- see the loop. I left enough wire attached to the circuit board so this could be reversed if I ever wish to do so. FYI, the circuit board in the fader has this clearly -- if a bit small -- noted as well.
Hope this helps someone!
