Radio Question

Post by EVAHank »

Hi, All;
I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer. I noticed a few days ago that one of the backlights on the display of my stock radio on my VXII seems to have gone out. how hard will this be to replace-can a 10-thumbed mechanic do it, or should I send the radio in for a refurb (and can we still do that? I've been out for awhile.) Any info would be appreciated!

Its not that easy as the bulb is a "Grain of wheat " size and is within the LCD display itself..
Send me the Radio as I fix them as the CBs I can either use a bulb as per the original or replace with LEDs and change the colour of the background.. .. Pictures are here

I also do a mod to reverse the clock/radio function.. and an MP3 mod.

I normally run a full check on the radio and check the cassette belts too..

Drop me a PM if you are interested or see my ad in the next Rosta at the top of the Virginia section.

Clarion no longer service the radios and while Sierra do, you normally have to send it though a willing Kawasaki dealer if you can find one.

Cheers..
