Part time oil leak?

I have a part time oil leak on the left side of my bike about where the footpeg is. Dont leak all the time but when it does it a good one. I've seen on here about the waterpump drive shaft seal leaking. Does it take any speical tools and are any springs, balls, bullets or other suprises going to come flying out at me when I pull it apart?

check the clutch push rod seal first. the water pump seal is useally a constant drip where as the push rod seal is sporatic. be careful putting the seal in as it can be dropped inside the transfer case if installed too deep.

Well after I drained the 5 ots of oil that someone that was doing me a favor changing when I bought the bike the oil leak seems to have stopped. amagine that. Like they say, if you want it done right.........
