Junk in the trunk
I purchased my bike after it had been in a rear end bump up. I check out all of the major mechanical parts and they are ok. My problem is that the trunk mounts located in the front that slide in the slot are broken. This allows the trunk to rock back and forth. I don't want to carry a passenger with it in this condition for risk of further damage not to mention maybe losing said passenger. Has anyone changed these round plastic pieces out for aluminum or some other stronger material or should I replace mine with stock? Thanks for any help with this.

Re: Junk in the trunk
I noticed when I put my trunk extensions on that one of mine was broken. I went to the dealer and for a couple of bucks and a week or so I had a replacement in hand. It was simple to replace, and while nylon may not be perfect, it allows the trunk to move easier than metal would.

Re: Junk in the trunk
Thanks for replying Icebird. I broke down and ordered a couple of nylon bushings. Thanks Carl. If these give me any trouble I'm going to mill some out of aluminum and spray them down with dry graphite so they will slide. If I do this I will keep everyone posted on how they work.
