Made this post in the 'General Chat' section which was probably the wrong spot so here I am trying again to get some suggestions...
Looking for 'insider' tips on going to Americade. We have decided that this is the year but are complete novices at attending an event of this size. Looking for any and all suggestions, especially on where (or where not) to stay. Primary interest in lodging is clean and inexpensive. Don't mind staying up to about an hour away from the action. Any thoughts on 'must do' and 'don't bother' type things during the event? How about the guided vs unguided tours? Again, any and all info and thoughts appreciated. Oh yeah, our group will probably be 4 to 6 couples.
Thanks,
Ohio Mike

I have never been but we tried to reserve a motel very close to the time and everything was booked, so if you plan on going now is the time to start looking
