SPARK PLUG WIRE QUESTION
Here is another maintenance question for the group: How often should you change your spark plug wires? Our XII is a '98 with about 65,000 mi. on it and the wires are original. I'm going to put some new plugs in with-in the next several weeks, and I was wondering if I should order a set of wires & change them, too, while I had it tore apart. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Re: SPARK PLUG WIRE QUESTION
Inspect the wires. Too many variables to be able to say for sure. If they looked cracked or split replace them. If they are still pliable and no cracks they are most likely good for many more miles.

Re: SPARK PLUG WIRE QUESTION
My 1200 had 172k on the original plug wires with no problems, no miss, no jerking, smooth idle. These are not like those on Autos, you'll know with it's time to change them. But do check for vaccum leaks, vaccum leaks will make you think it's bad plug wires.
