Re: rear tire replacement
I did not drop either muffler when I did my recent tire changes on my "99.I put an automotive scissors jack under a 2x6 under my headers, and with the bike on the center stand, lifted the front until the rear tire touched the floor, removed the shocks, then lifted the front until the axle could be removed.I supported the final drive with another small jack.I then left the scissors jack down until the front was back down.I am not saying my way was the easiest, but it worked.

Re: rear tire replacement
I think I followed the directions in the Voyager repair guide that we got when we joined the AVA. Check it out. I loosened the exaust on the right side so it could pivot down slightly. Made removal of the axel pretty easy. A little time consuming doing it for the first time but not too bad. And it saved me about $75!

Re: rear tire replacement
thanks guys!! i ended up just taking the 2 muffler mount bolts out on both sides and the mufflers dropped far enough to let the axle slip by... Tomorrow i'm having the C/T mounted. Hope i like the way it handles.... Mike

Re: rear tire replacement
You will , the cleaner and smoother you get the inside of the rim at the bead area the easier the tire will "pop" to the bead when mounted.bikermike wrote:thanks guys!! i ended up just taking the 2 muffler mount bolts out on both sides and the mufflers dropped far enough to let the axle slip by...
