As far as the day to day thing. I rode home from work one day, the next day I went to go to work it started up but when I put it in gear and went to go and the engine died.

As of today we covered the intake on the #4 carb and for some reason it started to work don't understand why, going to put everything back together and sync the carbs. See what happens.

I can't figure out from the posts that it started doing it and hasn't worked correct since it did it, or if it just does it intermittently?? If it is intermitent, That sure would point to electrical.. And the first place I would check is the switch on the kickstand, just bypas it. and see if it works. That is the most common cause of a engine dying when you let the clutch out on a XII & because it works sometimes simply means it is intermittent.. & as Kysjett said it will make you :bat: :cry2: ke you :tho: :gmad:

Ok I finally got it. Thanks to all for the help it really was a lot of help cause I tried almost all of them, but here is what I finally came down to the problemS.

The fuel pump was a hit or miss if it would work or not, the number 4 carb after rebuild needed a little better cleaning. After I put the new custom fit fuel pump and recleaned the number 4 carb it seems to be running great, oo and I put the new igniter in.

Again thanks to all for the suggestions because I was pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.

Good to hear you got-er-done, and thanks for letting us know what was going on, that way we all learn and if we run up on it sometime we know where to look. What fuel pump did you use? and dont throw you old one out, they can be serviced by cleaning the contacts inside and will be a good stand by to have.
