Terry Adcox Seat

Post by vxiirider »

We finally got the trike out today and were able to try out the seats we had rebuilt by Terry Adcox over the winter. We only rode for a little over 100 miles but we both agree that they are a big improvement and neither one of us experienced any "butt burn", like we have in the past.

What kinds of modifications were done and how much was spent? I'm not sure I'ver heard of this guy.

Terry had been making seats for the XII for many years.

He lives within an hour from me and I had him build a long distance seat for my Versys to my specifications. I wanted to get rid of the passenger hump since I only strap luggage down, and wanted some width for cruising and a place on the seat for shredding the curves. He now offers it to the public as well, and it is selling well on the versys forum.

I've had a Terry Adcox seat for about three years and it is much more comfortable than the stock seat. Still, after 200-250 miles I'm squirming which is why I ride with a Craig Vetter Magic Seat Board. But that's 100 miles farther than the stock seat!

I just purchased a custom seat for my 1990 XII. Made to fit me 6'2" 265# frame amd my wife's 165# too. I put over 100 miles on it the 1st day what a difference. This is a Tech Comfort seat and they can be found on eBay too. I am planning an Ohio to Florida trip in June and plan on only taking 2 days. I really think this seat and back rest will do the trick

I had my seat rebuilt by Terry about two years ago. That was one of my best investments.

I just got one rebuilt by Terry but haven't yet gotten it on the bike to try it out. I asked him to shave the seat area down an extra 1/2 inch as well as add an extra 1/2 to the front top to give it more of a saddle look/feel and hopefully keep me from slowly sliding forward. I also asked him to shave the front sides in some (up to an extra 1/2 off each side) so it was a closer fit with less push against my inner thighs.
Once I get it on and ride I'll let you know what I think and how my backside feels.
I can tell you this, just by looking at it I like the look of it better than the stock seat.
