Driver Backrests.. Any Ideas

Post by Sarge1961 »

I hope someone on the forum can help me with this problem. When I bought my 92 Voyager Xii it had a driver backrest on it that was broke and no way to fix it. After doing some looking around I found out that the backrest was from a goldwing.

So my question is, Does anyone know which year goldwing backrest will fit the Voyager Xii or where I can find one to work on the Voyager.

Thanks for the help

I just looked up your profile and noticed you have the XII. There are still options to include the Utopia. The upside of a Utopia is primarily experienced by your passenger (they don't a pair of bars between their thighs). The downside is that you have to have nerves of steel to do the surgery on the seat.

When we had our XII we had a backrest from Harrison Specialities that we as simple bolt on but that model has since been discontinued. The only way I could make Marcia happy was to let her have the Marvellas passenger highway pegs (a very high quality item) to clear the backrest bars up against the seat.

Have you done a Google search? There are still many options. Good luck with the search, just adding a backrest was my single best comfort and distance riding option.

Just got in a Corbin (UPS says it's at the house right now) with a backrest built-in. I have a Markland (going by memory so not sure) that after I am sure the Corbin will work out for me it will be available. It has been a great backrest (over 12k this last year).

I will have a backrest with the early seat pattern (four buttons) for sale if I ever get it back from the trim shop.

That being said, I like the Utopia.
