Great video of Full Moon

Post by Scott-(Altoona, PA) »

Here's a link from the MotoCampers forum for a video of the full moon rising Jan 28 2013, taken at Mount Victoria Lookout in Wellington, New Zealand.
Truly amazing and calming to watch.

Russell Gee,
What a fantastic presentation. The music, the view, the contrast, THE MOON, all brought tears to my eyes.

Personally, I enjoyed the video. Sure, we have bikes in common. But, we have other interests as well. I would think we would be gracious enough with one another to allow the latitude to share other bits of our life from time to time (providing it is an occasional post--not a steady stream of them.)

If you notice, Scott's name is in blue. That means he willingly shares his hard earned money to support this forum being available to everyone, ESPECIALLY those who don't pay their dues and become members of the AVA. I think that allows him a little grace from time to time.

And, that's all I've got to say about that.

Scott,
Sorry I got so excited watching the Moon video and noticed the name of the fellow that made it and passed over you, the guy that posted it for the benefit of the AVA members.
Thanks again.

Those dudes are hard to get rid of. I guess you could hook four hoses to your tailpipes (assuming you're still on a VXII) and stuff them into his tunnels....

Then it would be m/c related for sure.

Scott,

Sorry you let a non-member intimidate/influence you! You should have left the link and let the forum administrators decide if you violated any rules. That's what they are there for. It's not for non-members to judge. I would have liked to have seen the video!

I found nothing offensive at all with the video, not even the back-ground music. But as it was pointed out to me, rules are rules. I have previously reported questionable postings (porn links) to Duane on multiple occasions as well as "SPAM" user accounts in an effort to help keep this site free of any distracting information/materials/content. I have as well ridden late at night on my motorcycle and enjoyed the light of the moon but that doesn't mean that lunar videos are directly or indirectly related therefore I removed the link without hesitation once my eyes were opened (with assistance).
It is not, nor has it ever been my intentions to antagonize any users (paid members or non) of this site. This site is exactly as stated, for the purpose of sharing information relative to motorcycles and motorcycling.
I supose if I had started the thread with some "B~S" like "check out this video I took from my helmet cam...." it would have been received with a warmer welcome from all, but I'm not that deceitful or misleading.
JN1200 - I vow to you that I will make every attempt to be more conscious of what I post and which forum menu I post it under. No hard feelings and thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Side Note: Any one interested in seeing the video let me know and I'll pm the link to you! It is amazing! :wnk2:

Yes I got the link and I enjoyed the video. It was amazing how big the moon looked and you could even see features on the moon. Having the people in the shot moving in real time help to make the moment that much more real.

Maybe it could be in the Travel Ideas Forum...i.e. visit Australia and see this! :wnk2:

I do have an idea for a different sub forum. We could have a Not Motorcycle Related sub forum and something like this would be ideal. Of course such a forum would also have to have rules about personal attacks, politics, religion, etc. I visit other motorcycle forums that have this. One even has a Hotbox but I wouldn't recommend that for the AVA.

Come on people if everybody chipped in a few bucks we could go on ebay and get one of those va-room motors that you put on your bike back in the late 60's early 70's (showing my age) so when you want to make a video you can have it going on in the background then it makes it motorcycle related, you just sign it out from the central va-room engine holder (not me it was my idea). :gig:
P.S. my name is in red but I'm a member, don't know how to change it to blue.

Hey Mike, contact Duane and if they've received your money he'll be able to get your account fixed up. You should also have received a membership card as well so reference your membership number to expedite things.
