SENA Bluetooth & Midland 75-822 Combo Special Coupon Code
Hi All,
I learned about a company that sells CBs and communications equipment from Maverick, formerly with the Enchanted Voyagers Chapter, and now a Norcal Voyager Member. They are offering us a 5% discount on top the sale price being offered on a complete bluetooth and Midland CB package. Here are the details below. No shipping and no sales tax outside of AZ. Comes out to about $370 with the discount.
I checked with http://Hitechwireless.com/, and they will offer riders 5% off on top of the discounted Midland CB Sena Bluetooth SR10 combo package. http://www.hitechwireless.com/sena-blue ... b-package/ :0)
If anyone is interested in putting this up on Norcal's board and AVA's board, and can do so, that would be GREAT.
Use the coupon code "SenaSummer." Combo package runs apx $370 after the discount Free shipping, no tax outside of AZ.
I'll go ahead with my order shortly. I found a good mount, too, http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResults/ ... fault.aspx for anyone interested in getting one for the Midland. I hear http://Techmounts.com/ has some good ones too, but I didn't find one for the 1200, other than this one, http://www.techmounts.com/products/inde ... &x=101&y=7 which is more expensive and doesn't functional as good at the RAM mount. Let me know what you think.
Good riding,
joel
P.s., Don't forget to click on the radio button to add the Midland 75-822 CB before checking out. Have fun in Logan

Well I have a design for the communication connections using various SAE connectors (apx $100). Only problem, some of those wires may not get here till August 12th. I think the company is in Australia or New Zealand. I know Maverick wouldn't be able to tolerate waiting. I may try calling the Seller and seeing if they could get it sooner. Still have plenty of time b4 the WRR. It's looks nice and I'm really enjoying the new mounts. Pix to follow. I got some of my wiring ideas from these boards - Thanks.

Re: SENA Bluetooth & Midland 75-822 Install Updated
Well: I was able to get the new Midland 75-822 CB, Firestic FS3 and Sena SR10 Bluetooth communication system installed just in time for the 2013 AVA WRR - Ray Walls Fall Classic in Reno Nevada; boy am I happy biker. The WRR Rally snuck up on me this year, but the install went well. I called Carl for a CB bracket, and Carl came through with a new one in the package for below market value. What a pleasure it is to work with Carl Leo. Carl even knew the bolt head and length for that bracket. I think this set up helped me take 1st Place in the Stock Touring Class this year!

All tolled, I think I'm into this project for $642.25: $100 for 2 Ram Mounts, $125.25 for cabling, antenna and swr meter, $60 for stock chrome CB mount $370 for CB, Sena Bluetooth Device and Helmet Communication speakers / boom. I probally should have went with a stock XII CB kit for the ease of integration aspect, but I wanted new and a custom project to work on. I even went as far to add a charging station in the trunk with a little prodding from Don Medina, our club president and local riding friend.

Thanks to Maverick of Norcal Voyager Club for turning me on to Hitech Wireless, and the rest of the club members for their input Hank & Gert T., as well as Don for helping me design a clean install.

Hey Joel;
Just read your article on the new helmet, (I have the older model, and retired it and replaced it with a Bell/Mag-9 SENA, to work with my SENA. The main issue with the old helmet was that it was too heavy, and rested on the top of my glasses, which caused headaches during the trip) and the SENA unit, and wanted to advise you of something.
On the AVA trip with Don and Trish, and Ron, whenever Don or Trish would key their mics, I would hear them ok, but would get cut off from talking with my wife on the SENA intercom. She (my wife) would come back sometimes after 3-5 minutes, providing that Don or Trish did not key their radios again. This was very frustrating, so I found myself turning the CB off, which frustrated Don. When we got home, I contacted SENA tech support, and here was their answer to my problem:
"Hello Henry,
After understanding your situation better, I believe I can provide a workable solution.
When you are getting CB transmission that you don't want, you can close the channel on the SR10 by triple tapping the PTT on the SR10. This will close it for 3 minutes. And you can reopen it earlier by double tapping the PTT on the SR10.
Regards,
Tristan
Wish I could have found that in the manual, but it wasn't there....
BTW, I am looking for an antenna, to mount on the trunk like Mavericks. Found a HD kit for $89.00, but may build something myself.....

Re: SENA Bluetooth & Midland 75-822 Combo Special Coupon Cod
Hi Hank,
That Bell Mag 9 is so much lighter than a lot of the helmets I tried on. I think you made a nice purchase with the Bell helmet. Probably made in the USA too...?
Welcome back from Logan. I heard you had to get back to work when you returned, so we missed you, Gert and your awesome trike. I hear Maverick's trike is coming along well. Yea, Maverick told me 'bout HD hooking him up. Nice clean install.
I think I'm having the same problem, because the SR10 didn't want to multi-pair.
But my bigger issue is: I'm having a different problem with my set up. When I key the SR10 from the thumb switch or PTT BT device with the charger connected, I blast other riders with a pager like vibration noise, which other riders are annoyed by. I can hear it in my head phones too. I called the company that sold it to me, and they have been trying to trouble shoot the problem via e mails. I'm going to update my post after this company satisfies my concerns. I'll likely write a full review too.
They suggested I run an Aerostich Noise Filter. Price about $15 - $16. I think that's a great suggestion: I should get one anyway, but I'm pretty sure that isn't going to resolve the problem. Good thing is: Sena has already given me a return authorization. However, I hoping to trouble shoot the issue first, as it is really nice when it's working right.
Do you keep your SR10 hooked up to the 12V charging port when you ride? If so, did you experience what I'm describing at all?
In any event, I've been able to isolate the matter as best I can. The local electronic technician said "...based on the swr meter readings, I think the CB radio is suspect." He said "the swr meter indicates the radio is reflecting back too much." I guess I going to have to take it a step at a time.
I do love the set up a lot, so I'm hoping to get the gremlin out of my system soon and for good.
Glad to hear from you, and thank you for taking the time to read my post and for replying too.
See you at Jerry's next month....
Best to the Mrs.

I found this on Firestic's Library Resource(s) page. It's a CB Code sheet.
http://www.firestik.com/Tech_Docs/10codeCB.htm
I tried cutting and pasting, but it's not formatted properly for this board. I'll post this link to my Sena BT CB Combo Topic page too.
I hope you find this 10-39 useful; Good Buddies.

That Bell MAG-9 Sena Helmet is a lot nicer than I remembered. You got a nice looking helmet and these are sold at a good price too. I'll be interested what you think of it when I speak with you next.

It looks like the visor control is near the cheek instead of on top, such is the Shark's.
Thanks for telling me about it.
Forgot to mention: Read your post about the KMS mod. You really made a lot of good points and observations. While I don't own a 1700, it was interesting following your post / process / progress.
I'm going to ask Ron if their is a way to have a "Journal Page" to keep track of all this kind of stuff in one place such as maintenance intervals. I have one for my salt water coral reef tank club, and find it a handy reference to go back to, and to give other club members a way to see what's happening.

Re: SENA Bluetooth & Midland 75-822 Combo Special Coupon Cod
UPDATED 9/21/13 I had a closed circuit loop buzzing going on while transmitting and charging the SR10 until Firestic troubleshot my install. The antenna was not grounding properly, now the Midland SR10 Bluetooth and Midland 75-822 are working just fine. I may put a Ferrite Core RF cable choke on the radio's 12V power adapter to take some impedance out while the SR10 is charging and the radio is transmitting. The folks at Hitechwireless.com have been terrific; and I would highly recommend speaking with Tom or any of the others .
