Post by vxiirider »

We arrived home safe and sound about 6 PM today, hope that everyone has a safe trip home. Enjoyed the time together with our old AVA friends and meeting some new ones at our annual "family" reunion. Thanks to the Board Members for all their hard work putting together another great rally. Looking forward to seeing all you in Asheville. NC next year.

We arrived home about 1600hrs. We had light rain about a third of the trip just enough to make the bike dirty! I will take care of that tomorrow! lol! Deb and I had a great time! To echo your sentiments John, meeting old friends and making new ones. Kudos to the board! As usual another outstanding job! I am looking forward to Asheville nest year. I always wanted to ride that part of the country but never found or made the time to do it. Ride safe everybody!

Saturday is when we pulled in, at 1:30 pm . Took the longer route southeast then north up the Ohio river in WV. Had a great time and a great, dry ride there and back. (Honest i'm not kidding ) Some fool did however almost crush the trailer ,just past Baltimore trying to squeeze his way into our lane at the toll plaza. Only a scratch !!! Good to see ya'll and meet new friends, I'm off to the Smoky's in the morning. I'll be east of Ashville in the Great Smoky Mountains. Marie says hello to all the new friends she has also met . Gene and Marie Kap.

Great ride today. Very nice weather. It started raining again in Logan Friday night downpours. (After Gene Left) while eating at the Millstone. Got soaked walking back up to the hotel.
Great to see everyone again and new friends. Also thanks for everything and well wishes.
Almost home.

360 miles (including almost 100 very scenic miles on Ohio State Route 93) to Bowling Green (remember that rally) where we have family and firends. Than 800 miles in a day home. Not an Iron Butt ride but I think we get extra credit after riding though some thunder storms in Georgia. We hope to see you next year.

I want to thank Duane and the rest of the board for their hard work in planning and executing a great rally. I met a lot of great people there. This was my first rally and I'm looking forward to next year.

I left the KOA campground with Mike, Janie and Floyd from WI and IN Friday AM. I stopped in Dayton to see the Air Force Museum and stayed 4 hours and managed to see about 1/3 of it. I'll be back there some day. Got home in West Bend, WI about 1 AM Sat and slept like a baby for 10 hours. About 580 miles back.

I made it back home to NC around midnight this past Tuesday. Needless to say, I took the "long way" home and wound up clocking over 3600 miles round trip. This was my first AVA rally and really enjoyed the event and the fellowship. Enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing all the Voyagers in one spot was a treat for me. My wife couldn't make it this year and we are both looking forward to next years event in Asheville which is less than 5 hrs from home.

Arrived home in Oregon today, Monday, July 22. 7,171 miles total, 24 days. After leaving Logan the NorCal Voyagers rode south through Kentucky & Tennessee. Rode the Tail of the Dragon then headed west. A great trip to Logan, a great rally, and a great ride home!

Don and Trisha are home from the Rally, today Trisha's brother Bob left for home, North Carolina. Bob met us in Knoxville, and followed us back in his car. This is his first coast to coast trip. So now that Bob has gone the Ray Walls Grand Tour, Logan is over. Trisha and I traveled 6774 miles, only had two tail lights go out on the Goldwing Trike and one running light on the 1700 Voyager. I'm tired but have a big smile on my face.

At the speeds we traveled the 1700 Voyager got many tanks of gas in the 50 mpg. But these are at old man speeds, the Goldwing Trike got a few tanks as high as 43 mpg. Ashville next year, we'll be there. Already planning a Ray Walls Grand Tour, Ashville.
