Been a little busy since we got back, so just got the posted. Tina and I had a great time at our first of hopefully many AVA Rally's to come. We are already looking forward to Asheville next year!

Sweet! Sure wish I could get the layout for that course. I don't get to go to may rallies, but sure like to improve my skills!

Re: A couple of 2013 AVA Rally videos
Thanks for the kind words Gator!
As far as the layout of the course, it really is not near as important as the skill set. Clutch, throttle and brake control while always being aware of front and rear wheel relationship. This was my first Rally, and I had no idea what the "Bike Games" were going to be like. What I did know is that I keep my basic skills practice up. At least twice a month I try to set a few minutes aside to practice some lock turns (left and right), a few slalom runs (I often just use the marks at the end of a parking stall). I also make sure I practice some hard braking every now and then. I do that from several different speeds, including freeway speeds. I usually practice higher speed braking in a left turn lane on a 4 lane highway when no traffic is around. You might be surprised how fast one of these XII's will stop. Hope you can make the next Rally and get out there and burn up the course!

T2K, Your skills aren't basic. When I ride that course, the best I can hope for is that Mike won't laugh at me. So far so good.
