Flasher Relay

Post by vstarridin »

Good Morning

Currently on the road and my turn signals/hazard lights have failed. I suspect the flasher relay has failed. Does anyone know if there is a substitute for the Kawasaki part. Maybe a NAPA part?

Thanks

I think it's unusual for a flasher relay to fail, have you checked for the possibility of a blown fuse? I'm assuming that they are not turning on at all.

If it's not that, there is one listed on the dollar4dollar page.

get hold of a ( test light ) and pull the faux tank off, the flasher is on the left side attached to the battery hold-down . See if you have power there when in turn position of the switch.

Try this, just wiggle your ignition key a little, and or push it in. See if this cause them to start working again. Then you will know if its the switch. Mine has done this from time to time and I squirt wd40 in key hole and its ok for a while.

recently had the same problem. took it to a electrical shop Ended up being loose wire from ignition switch. you can check by simply jiggle the harness where it goes to the ignition switch. If it is it's not that hard or expensive it repair.

Any of the 3 plug round flasher should work, get a heavy duty one that's for pulling trailers, that way if you add lights the flasher will still handle to load.

I use a Tridon EP-34. It is an electronic flasher unit. This is great if you've converted a lot of your lights to LED.
