Intercom Wires

Post by Skibou »

At first I thought it was just my bad luck. I've had to replace two headsets this year, presumably because one of the tiny wires inside broke. After talking to a lot of people, however, I can't find anyone who hasn't had the same problem. It seems you're lucky if you get two years out of these things, and it doesn't seem to matter what brand you choose. A fellow member suggested that it might be the weight of the relatively heavy coiled wire that connects to the bike causing a break in the light wire at the helmet, and that seems reasonable. Personally I could live with a short piece of 10 AWG hanging from my helmet if I didn't have to replace it so often.

Talk to Neal. I have a set from him. They are at least 5 years old no problems at all.
