Missouri "Ride to Nowhere" Saturday, November 23rd.

Post by Chris near Kansas City »

Kevin Braddy and I were thinking about getting together on the side of the road on I-70 for salutations and general personal jabs regarding the size of doghouse we routinely have to sleep in because of the womenz we have chosen to spend the rest of our lives with. God love 'em.

Anyway, I suggested something with walls and that naturally progressed to either a rest area or a stall in the bathroom at a Petrolink truck stop. Personal jabs aside, I thought something like McDonald's might attract a higher class of Voyager aficianados as well as reduce the chance of getting caught in an undercover sting operation that might end up being televised on Dateline.

While I have traveled farther for less, I thought a nicer place would be, well......nicer. Keeping it halfway between the Kansas Militia and the Illinois Creekbathers to avoid a costly and messy turf war steered my Google Map Feng Shui towards Hermann, Missouri. Depending on the size of the group, I was looking at either Lyndee's or the Barrel Bar and Restaurant. http://www.hermannhill.com/the-barrel-bar.html

If you think you'd like to join us on Saturday, November 23rd for lunch, post up or shoot me an email or pm. Ride, bride, drive or solo, everyone is invited.

Chris

That's not far for me- I am in Jeff City. I may have to see what I can do. Would be nice to hang out with some other Kawa guys. All we have around here is the HD or Victory crowd, and they constantly are ticked because my bike doesn't break and because I can still afford to have a house with my bike.

I have been instructed to let everyone know, that I have never been in the doghouse according to my wife.

That almost sounds like I'm in the doghouse now, though. Doesn't it?

Well Chris, We spoke briefly at one of the first rides of the year, the Moonshine Lunch Run. Seems strangely appropriate to end the season having lunch with you. I'm planning on being there. Please let me know the final when and where. My wife has said the last two weekends that she is done for the year but when I head for the bike she's right there! We'll see what happens. I may need two seats at the table! Dennis

I forgot to mention before, there is a great family business, the Swiss Meat and Sausage company very near Hermann. (In the town of...Swiss, Mo.!) They are on Hwy 19 about a 20ish minute ride south of Hermann. They have a huge selection of really good stuff, all of which is bad for you. Thought I'd mention it in case, like me, anyone else may want to bring a cooler. Their website will give you a good idea of what you're missing!

The weather will determine whether I am solo or two-up and on the bike or in the car. Ride "it" if "it" will get you to lunch and back home. I believe it was Randy Travis who once said, "Milwaukee Acorns or Juglans ailantifolia, it matters not to the squirrel. But rather the number of nuts at the table."

Odd duck, that Randy Travis.

I am planning on riding the 90 Voyager , and hoping to find a way for Randy to come to share in our fun. He has had a tough year healthwise , but I will send him an email to see if he can make it. He is a strange fellow, but always enjoys a good time and if food and beverage and hanging out with good friends is involved.......he is there. Hopefully will be on a bike and ready to eat some good food and see some good friends.

High of 35 on Saturday, so we'll be in a cage. But Pam can go that way. Even if it was going to be 20 degrees warmer, it wouldn't be warm enough for her to ride.

Looks like we are still a go for Saturday. If you could, post up if you're going to be there.

The Barrel Bar & Restaurant in Hermann, Missouri. Around 11:30-11:45am.
