Rick and I will be staying at the Hampton Inn (1509 Hampton Dr.) in Effingham, Illinois. We'll leave KC Friday morning and hit Effingham sometime in the afternoon.

Re: Moonshine 2014
The Hampton in Effingham used to be my first stop on an annual sixth grade class trip. I used to drive the bus for it (My church had a K-6th school at the time). Stop in St. Louis to see the Gateway Arch and then on to Effingham. From Effingham to Springfield to see the Lincoln sites. From there we would go to Lancaster County, PA; NYC; Philly; D.C.; and Mount Vernon. I made the trip nine times and drove five of them on a 4905 GMC bus. Great memories. Your post sparked memories that will make my day. Thanks, Chris.

I will be staying at the Lincoln suites in Marshall, Illinois. Tom U is planning on riding with me from Indy if the weather is good. We hope to see everyone at the awards dinner Friday night or Saturday morning in Moonshine for a burger and pictures.

Re: Moonshine 2014
Hi All, New to posting on this forum but had to say hello and tell both Chris and Jim that I plan on going to Moonshine this year.
Perhaps it may be a little bit warmer this time lol.
I am looking forward to riding with good friends and seeing old ones...

Re: Moonshine 2014
I want to go.It looks like a great event. Unsure if I can get off work. At least it will give me a goal for changing my Voyagers fork springs. Moonshine run would be a great chance to try out new progressives.

Re: Moonshine 2014
I am thinking of going. Would be nice to see old friends and meet new ones.
I could leave Friday night after work, only 4 hours from Schaumburg.
I suppose I better decide soon to get a hotel nearby.
Hope the ice is gone by then.

Re: Moonshine 2014
Trying to bring the Neal with me, but his family issues may preclude him making it this year. Meeting in Indy Friday morning to finish my SS1000 from Orlando.
Looking forward to this adventure.

Re: Moonshine 2014
This is my plan. There are many like them, but this one is mine.
Sort of maybe something similar to the following:
Friday. Dinner at Richard's Farm Restaurant. Shooting for 5 or 5:30ish, top floor (3rd level) to the right as you go in the front door.
Saturday. Leave Effingham around 8am. Stop at official motel (Days Inn) in Casey for a look around. Leave for Moonshine around 9am. At 9:30am, single or double bacon with cheese TBD.
11-11:30-ish south-east corner. Meeting of the Mindless Moonshine Motorheads
Chili supper starts at 5pm. In the past, we've been in the parking lot around 4:30 to look at the bikes as they come in. If someone wanted to suggest a dinner get together somewhere else, I wouldn't be opposed. But the chili supper benefits the local fire department. Besides, it's fun to try and squeeze a double bacon cheese backside into those school chairs.
This year I'm definitely going to get my picture taken with Hank Hill at the propane dispensary.
Found myself in a picture on the ADVriders forum: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost ... stcount=34
Like I said, it's just a rough idea of who/what/where/when. Still working on the why.

Just an FYI. The Hampton Inn has been sold. We will now be staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites (1305 N. Keller Dr).

I second that Dion. Looks to be 50 or above here for the next week or two. Yay!

There is more to see in Casey besides Moonshine, in your spare time..
The Guinness book has 4, world records in Casey.
The worlds largest wind chime, largest golf tee, largest knitting needle, and crochet hook.
