Craftsmanship at it's greatest! Vent Covers by Gene Kap

Post by Scott-(Altoona, PA) »

Well shame on me for being so slow at installation but I finally got my New (not new old stock but NEW) vent covers installed. These were made by "ekap1200" A.K.A. Gene Kapuscinski from New Jersey.
First let me say the quality of the mirror finish is absolutely perfect. In the second picture if you look you can catch the reflection of my mug in the finish. It reminds me of back in the day when cars had chrome bumpers (something that's long gone now).

Second the price is less than what the Kawasaki vent covers cost 10 years ago and with inflation I can't imagine what the price would be today for chromed steel. And the quality I'm sure couldn't compare.

Last, they look wonderful! Don't take my word for it ....... take a look.

 ......I agree with what Scott said, I kinda, sorta, expected to have to do some "A.R." follow up work , because I understand that G.KAP has been mass producing these parts to fill orders :LvStrk ...... workmanship, and delivered product is "all that" I had to do more things to install mine .... because of my
previous light installation.... but that's O.K. :woohoo: it's what I like :!:
anyway.... here's probably not the best pic of G.KAP's work, due to some lighting.Image

....So pleased with the results....Can't wait till the mirror visors are ready for shipment ! thanx Gene, well done............................tony

Mine are attached with tiny stainless steel screws that are self tapping. I had my wife (got to make her feel involved) hold them in place while I used a small awe to give me a start, after that it was just a matter of turning the screwdriver!
Easy Pezey, winner winner chicken dinner!
Seriously it only takes a few minutes and they're on. Had the wife stand back 6 feet or so just to make sure I had them straight (even though they fit perfect to the factory plastic vents {see comment above}).

Yup, yup, they are great! And I like the trunk mirror too. And Lucasind, Millie looks like a good judge of craftsmanship...or character, one of the two!

Ha! Cool. Tried to put a photo of our Golden Retriever, Nacho! My garage is too small and he's too hyper. He sits out by the door and watches when it's warm.

If you look very closely you will see the original black plastic vent grids/fins behind it.
So to answer your question, Yes they go directly over the factory original vents and as you can see the coverage is perfect!

Gene,
Got the Mirror Visors today. I gotta say, "I'm duly impressed!". In my opinion, these are much better than the original Markland Visors. The original were pretty squared off. Yours are nicely contoured to the shape of the mirror housing. Very nice.

I haven't mounted yet, but did the customary "hold and look see" and they look sharp.

...So after I got off work today I pull up in front of my house and see that the UPS guy brought me 2 boxes in an attempt to satisfy my M/C addiction
I could'nt pull my service truck up into my driveway, due to someone's girlfriend thought she would ignore my 99th request, that, if you don't live here..... PARK IN THE STREET.anyway one of the boxes contained some beautiful pieces , hot off the press from GKAPP industries

Image
Nicely packaged, and protected with bubble rap, after opening, I even found a small pack of stainless screws, that I did'nt get with the louver covers that I installed last month.Lookin good GENE !, They will be installed in the morning with pictures to follow. I have a fresh tube of RTV to seal em up, I held them up to the bike....

Image
and like what I see  The more things you make... the better my XII looks
Thanks again !................................tony :-D
