CHECKING BRAKES, BEFORE RALLY TWISTIES.

Post by Lucasind »

....So over the weekend I had time to do a visual brake pad check on the 3 bikes heading south to the AVA rally. The rears on my XII were replaced over winter maintenance, but I thought I would ASK the boys, how their brakes were/felt
(in their opinion)........ ALL GOOD was the reply!..... So , I pulled the calipers off to have a "look see"..... here's what I found........................... :!!

Image

The 2000 1100 zrx needed ALL new brakes. The 2003 connie, needed rears only.
I bought EBC for the connie, which Brian will drive, but my son Brad bought some
"high dollar" race application pads for his zrx 1100. Brad is HARD on his bike ...and brakes.....but I'm hoping it is a "phase" he will outgrow !
I am using a dime to demonstrate how "thin" things had gotten :tho:
(hey... c'mon, with so many bikes ,, I have a hard time keepin up on everything )

Image

So ...things might seem the same, and sound the same, but it really dosen't
take a heck of alot of time to pull a caliper and do a good check of what ya really
got ,before heading to the twisties on the Blue ridge Parkway !

CANT WAIT ....were down to a few weeks ......................... ..tony :-D

Tony

NorCal Voyagers will have, Galfer brake pads and stainless steel brake lines in sets and a couple of solo clutch and rear brake lines for sale at the 25th International AVA Rally.

Best prices on brake pads. No, NorCal Voyagers can not compete with the el cheapo pads on E bay. but if anyone wants some great pads, stop by the booth.

NorCal Voyagers will also have a NEW ITEM, Stainless brake lines for the ABS Voyager 1700, plus Galfer brake pads for the front and rear.
