It may be time to retire my '99 250 Nighthawk. It's been great as an errand runner and the occasional Saturday morning jaunt. I do long for fuel injection and disc brakes.

I guess I am just getting too old. None of these new designs light my fire anymore. They haven't for a while now. Back in the day I am sure you could get a little Nighthawk 250 for less than 3 grand. Today you can't buy a tiny dirt bike for that.

Re: Less is more.....
Honda was really proud of the Nighthawk. The Rebel could be had for around $3K. The Nighthawk was closer to $4K. Dual sports were even more. I'm with you on the cosmetics. I'd rather have the Nighthawk with a disc brake. It looks more like a traditional UJM.

Re: Less is more.....
Hondas just don't do anything for me. I almost bought a CB1100 for a café project because I found a new one for under $7300, but I just couldn't jump.
I am disappointed in Kawasaki's offerings lately. They are not keeping up with the competition.
Need a new ZRX1200 replica bike with modern technology. Need a W800 in the states. Need a full on adventure touring bike.

Re: Less is more.....
I agree with you David, I loved my ZRX1100, just got to old and fat to ride it anymore. Most of the motorcycles today look like special effects projects for a Transformer movie. I just can't get excited over them anymore. But then they are designed to appeal to the young, just like rap music and I can't get into that either. David, if you read this, take care of yourself out there. We are gonna miss you here. I really appreciated your cool headed wisdom. Rubber down man.
