GARMIN III. another mount option

Post by ekap1200 »

Hello from now cold and windy New Jersey. Great time of the year if you want to work INSIDE. So here are some pics of just another way of installing your Garmin without drilling any hole's. I just purchased a used garmin-3 and didn't like the mount system. PO had it installed on a G-Wing and I just hate drilling holes in expensive plastic. With just replacing the stock screws with 4mm-.7 x 25mm long screws this seems to work out. There two inserts for the oem screw/counter bores and a rubber gasket under this bracket so there is no way you would know it was there , if removed for resale. Plus I just like the position of where I have it mounted now. With needed home repairs and other family and health , issues finally winding down I have more free time in my home away from home
(ie. shop , Man-Cave )
Next up will be setting up a pay pay account and getting back to work on other trim items out of stainless 0.048" ...
After that is ; this garmin unit is wired up and the last two doors for the house are sprayed and installed.

Yes I did, road to work every day even in the rain. This pic shows the mileage from Jan. 2014 ... Good thing I have 3 cats to keep the rodents out of the engine compartment of my pic-up, its been sitting for some time . Unless I need it to haul something. A few 300 mile days but other than Ashville not many really long stays in the saddle. I may get to get a few more rides in but not much over 8k this year on the 1200. Time to spend hours of fun time in the shop now until Feb. Gene
