Saw bike yesterday

Post by cushman eagle »

As I was sitting by the window yesterday, waiting for riding weather :cry2: I saw a Harley go past the house on a very salty road in 21 degree weather :-O :cold: :cold: .I didn't get my Voyager and follow him. :gig:

As tempting as that may seem.... I have been watching for the same ! ,,,,We got a fresh 4-6 inches today ...and from the west end of lake erie ...I have NO riders seen to report !
I gotta tell ya...after doing so much repair/build/update ...on several of my bikes prior to this recent
arctic blast......I am more than ready for this winter to ease up ,and allow a test ride or two !
(is this asking for too much ? )......reporting in,from rock salt city  .........tony :-D

No motorcycles seen in this neck of the woods either. Just two snowmobiles crossing the field below our house. I hope that Harley
Rider washes the salt off of his bike before he puts it up!

We should see about 250,000 or so motorcycles passing through in the next week or two.

Bike Week in Daytona starts on Friday.

Traveling east bound on I-96 about 10:30 AM today , truck thermometer said 23 degrees , and we saw a biker headed west bound keeping up with 70 MPH traffic. I wonder if his knees would bend when he got to his destination.

Have not seen a bike on the road for 4 weeks. As much as I would like to ride, these old bones can't take the cold no more. To many years of working out in the cold has taken its toll on my ability to cope with it. And the roads here are a mess of salt and calcium. I can wait...... :cold:

motorcycles all over town today, guys that have been dyin to ride for the last 90-100 days were out today. Not a cloud in the sky....even made my son and his buddy go out riding after work today ,with the time adjustment for "daylight saving time" over the weekend .it's like living in a different state all of a sudden ! The deer on my land are also very happy to see the snow starting to melt !
The only "green" left to eat by this time, is a row of yucca plants that my wife Pam introduced along the staircase leading down to the band stage, we can only assume that this is one terrible tasting plant to eat, cause it is the very last thing to get consumed by them !..................tony :-D

....Yes....That hill faces the south,....just one day of full direct sunlight, and 46 degrees did that amount of melting. The low land at the very bottom, will have snow there for months, but I don't care about that cause I don't ride my Voyager down there anyway ! :gig: ..............tony :-D

The temps here are looking pretty good for going out riding finally ! The forecast for Monday looks like
we should see hi 60's :!! ,then return back to the 40's for the rest of the week. I got both my Voyagers out on the driveway today, then rode each one around the block, checked the air pressure in the tires, and found them to be a tad low. I think I'm gonna play hooky from work tomorrow and take the 12 and the 13 out for a nice long ride !

Ironically even up here in North western Canada the weather has really warmed up (hardly had a winter this year) snow is almost gone and over the last few days lots of bikes on the road although far to much gravel so I'm staying off mine for a bit longer. Saw a group of 4 riders out this afternoon but it's only 36f out today yesterday it was almost 70 :)

We saw probably around 40 to 50 bikes yesterday. You know what we were one of them. We managed to put on over 300 miles of therapy which was RTE to Omaha and back. Took a nice leisurely ride at around 7 hours on the road.

I really feel bad about this but went for a lunch run yesterday with 6 other Lone Star Voyagers. Round trip for one member was about 400 miles in No snow & 65+ degrees. Out today for another 200 miles in our "cold" 65+ weather. Winters are mild but July & August, you just put your bike and wait for cooler weather. Don't like riding when even a coolvest doesn't work...

Rode the bike to work today, the Cushman ,that is. It is .8 mile by truck, but it took me 5.5 miles to get there by Cushman . :gig: That kind of ratio often shows up when I go somewhere on the Voyager also. :hmm: :corn:
