Getting ready to camp

Post by Littlebeaver »

I thought about buying a fancy camper, you know the pull behind foldout ones... Well I thought about it and I already have a trailer that I tow, hummm why not just use what I have and have more room... I'm posting some photo's of my set up... It might take longer to set up but it's kinda nice having lots of room..... Rest room too... :gig: AC, bathroom, Shower, queen mattress, lamps, microwave(naw) Bidet lol... Image Image Image Home away from home... :gig: I enjoy camping, it's nice to have electricity as I do use a CPAP amchine to sleep and it's necessary for me.. It's also nice to run the small air unit I have... But sometimes I won't even load it up..... If I go to Texas it's going with.. Been towing and camping for lots of years and love it....I like State parks, I plan on hitting lots of Kansas lakes this year and camping out... Fishing the lakes is my plan,, eating my catch... Yes..

That's a great lookin set up ya got there beav' , If ya gotta "rough it" that don't look too bad !
The last time we went tent camping to a state park with another couple,my wife and I decided to stay
ONE extra night after our friends went home. Well, we settled in to our tent around 11:00 p
and was awakened about 12:30a by a terrible thunder and lightning down pour of a storm, the ceiling of the tent lost it's pitch and started sag pooling water above our heads....long story short we got
DRENCHED that night ! about 4:00a we abandoned ship and went into the truck and slept sittin up  When we talk about camping.....we always seem to go right to that story, cause it's one of the worst stories we have  here is the only picture I have of that day....you can just barely see the corner of our blue and white tent in the lower left. Had we known what was coming our way....we would have left with our friends ! But then....we would have missed out on that night of adventure !

Cindy and I had a really nice tent with two rooms. The winds got so bad one night the tent took off and we never saw it again! Now we have a really nice six man tent that has a floor and ties solidly to ground. It's like the one our friends were in during that storm, and they stayed cozy all night while ours flew away.

It's a special feeling hearing the storm rage around you while you stay cozy and dry all night!

Beave, does that mattress have some kind of frame under it to raise it that high? Looks like a luxury hotel! Carpet no less!

I think we have all lost a tent at one time or another... :gig: This tent has been through a few good storms, but always seems to survive, the easy up tent can be lowered so that's what we did, making it less likely to blow away,,, it can still happen but it's gonna take quite a storm....The air mattress is a Entex air mattress 16" tall and very comfortable... May cost a little more than the typical one but I wanna sleep well.. It's funny how it always seems to storm when we go camping.... :gig: I am working on getting my lighting right now,, don't know if I want battery LED or kerosene or propane... Lifes an adventure, I look forward to whatever comes my way.... :gig:
