Hi Guys,
After days of research, I used the phosphoric acid method to remove the rust from my gas tank after taken out of storage. While it’s off I am cleaning my carbs. I’ve seen many posts about removing vacuum lines and replacing with a rubber cap. Is this recommended or is this just for the California Voyagers? I do not have a California bike and would just a soon leave them off if recommended. Which ones would I remove? I have a low mileage 2001 ZG1200b.
Many thanks,
Sci

Re: vacuum lines on carb
All Voyager XIIs in Canada use 4 of the rubber plugs, #92066-006. But please note that none of the engines for Canada had the clean air vacuum valve setups that the 92059-1033 and 92059-1162 hoses operate, nor the reed valve arrangement on the cylinder head cover. Canadian models had 2 blank plates instead of the reed valves/caps, see carburetor, air filter and cylinder head cover parts illustrations.
Instead of the 92059-1033 black hoses, our engines use a 1/4" (I believe), clear plastic pipe from the 2 tees, 92005-1125, which go UNBLOCKED over the top of the lower airbox and head downward towards the swingarm.
I can't make any recommendations for the US system, but that is what we have up here.
Hope that helps in some small way,
Dave
