It is with deep sadness that we notify you all that Dot Wirtz passed away [Sunday] afternoon.
We have been in contact with Dave and he is in good spirits. I know Bronson has also been in contact with Dave.
Dot did not want a service and will be cremated and her ashes to be scattered along the blue ridge on one last motorcycle ride with Dave.
She was a great friend and truly loved the AVA. She will be missed.
Dave and Dot were AVA Board members for several years. As Rally Directors, they scouted the rides and produced the ride maps. Ironically, they retired from the Board in 2013 because of Dave's health. They loved the AVA and really missed not being able to come to the rallies after 2013.

Dave & Dot:
sorry to hear that just a small prayer:God our Father,
you call each of us by name,
and you treasure each of us individually
as though no-one else exists.
Inspire us
to respect and value
each person who comes into our lives this day.
Amen.
It is very sad to learn of the passing of Dot Wirtz. She and Dave joined the AVA and very shortly stepped up to get involved in the leadership of the association. Both had a lot of riding experience as two up riders and both seemed sticklers for prestine machinery. Their Voyager Xll was always in excellent shape and looked as though it just came off the show room floor.
Dot was a lot of fun to be around and always seemed quick with a word or two in conversation. We had a private joke. The moment I saw her face to face I would flash her a wink. Dot always teased me about that. We will miss her.
Dave,
This is truly sad news. Dot was always a sweetheart and a friendly face for all of us. Bernadette and I send prayers. Be strong, Dave, and take care of yourself.

I have had the short pleasure of meeting both of them at the last few rallys. Great people, and Dot sure will be missed. Marie and I offer our prayers and condolences to Dave. Gene and Marie
