Any vertically challenged XII riders out there?

Post by 4getful2 »

Hey all, I'm new here.
I'm also looking for a bigger bike and the newer forward control style pegged wonders that that they now, don't really impress me.
I've been studying up the 1200 and it looks like a reliable machine.
By the title, I have a 31" inseam. Are there any short riders out there ? stock seat height fine?, any mods to it?
Kinda like to be flat footed at a stop.

5'8" and 240# with a 29" inseam here. Wear boots with a nice thick heel and sole and flat footed can be done, and most always at least one foot can be fully flat and the other 1/2 way.

I live inner city Chicago and spend half my life at traffic lights so if the Voyager didn't fit me, I wouldn't own it. You can also get some relief if needed by slightly lowering the air pressure in the rear shocks.

FWIW by the view I don't view myself as 'challenged', just built for traction, not for speed. - lol

5'8", been riding a XII since '08. Not really a problem. Stopped at an intersection, I have 2 feet flat on the ground standing, 1 foot flat and 1 1/2 seating. Not if you were thinking about a 1300, that would be a different story.

I'm 5'6" 29" inseam here. I also wear boots and am able to be almost flat footed. I usually am flat footed with my left foot and about 1/2 way with the right. You should be able to be flat footed. I love the heck out of my 1200 but may be willing to sell it for the right price. :gig:

Ditto for me. I don't often wear boots but the XII is easy to balance for me. I have been weaked of late with renal disease and I can still manage, once I get her off her center stand! :bravo:

6'9" and riding a 95 voyager. It's a nice fit. My feet touch ground at the stops.

I'm only 6'4" (6-5 a few years ago) and I raised the seat about 4" and back 5", moved trunk forward as a backrest [extender mounted backwards], and finally got comfortable. How do you tall guys manage? (I hope you don't tell me YOGA for flexibility, I'm stuck in my ways, but I like it here).

I know of one person that added a block to the bottom of the crash bar .This way he can put his heel on the peg and plant his toe squarely on the block .This puts your foot about 2 or 3 inches forward without having to stretch out for normal forward pegs.

I am 5' 6" with 30" inseam. One thing I did notice after I switch to progressive shocks, the bike stood a little taller, so beware if you are using old air shocks and change it can raise the seat height.
