ROK? is it still there?

Post by kjsett »

Hi all, i tried to make sure my ROK membership was still good for this year. It came in very handy when something from I17 actually cracked my Oil pan (cast aluminum) and left an oil spill under my bike an hour from home. Fortunately I was paid up last summer with ROK because of the 4500 mile trip we went on I didn't need any issues.

On a Sunday (i thought that might be the issue), i found in the last Voyagers Voice the ROK ad and tried the website. Then, and just now, got this message:
we're sorry

The web page you are looking for cannot be found. Here are some helpful links, and you can explore our site map here.

Ok. So we did that. Had to sign up (thought i had) in the "MyKawasaki" area and then added our 2 bikes. Found under the Owners Area tab the ROK link. Then the "Join Now" tab at the bottom of the page. (this is the URL - http://www.kawasaki.com/ROK/WhoWeAre" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Wow, instead of taking me to an error page last time (maybe it was Google Chrome, tried Firefox this time), it took me to a sign up or enter your number (i had mine) and zip and now i got to the pay for it page. Entered the "AVA10"
My info was mostly correct but then it required my bike's info including VIN & plate. Fortunately I had rode it in that day (tried this during a break). So I filled in the info, but I wanted to add my wife's bike, but didn't have that with me. I hoped I could add later.
Seems they still had my credit card on file, and I opted to not make it an automatic renewal (things might change next year). Hit the process button and:

We are currently experiencing technical issues, please feel free to contact our Customer Care Department at (800) 262-7262 during normal business hours. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Payment Gateway.

So, still not renewed............ Maybe try again tomorrow. I am on Pacific time and it was 3:40pm (6:40 Eastern) so maybe i had better try in the morning.
And the Saga goes on........... :tired: :corn:

Update: I tried again at 16:35 (4:35pm to everyone who didn't get it) and this time it went through. It didn't ask for my bike info again, nor showed it at the member info page. I don't understand, but I am glad it worked. :bowdn:

I thought it was just me because I was having the same issue. I have tried a couple of times and have decided to just make a phone call. Good luck to you.

I renewed last month on line and no issues. I was not aware that you have to provide specific bike information. I thought it covered whatever bike I was riding at the time. Mmm. Might have to do some research on this. I have used ROK roadside assistance twice. Once for the voyager and the ignition short that blew the main fuse, and once for a flat on the Concours 60 miles from home at the end of a 4000 mile ride.

First time i tried it did ask for it, but it gave a technical can't do it right now after all that. Tried it a half hour later, didn't ask for bike info and went through (so I did renew).
We will see,

It's funny. My ROK renewal falls right at the same time as Bike Week in Daytona, and they are always there with a demo tent, so I usually just renew it there. They have the AVA discount, and I've never had an issue getting it renewed. Makes things much easier.
