Lance and Tina McCaw met us in Davenport last night on their immaculate 1987 Voyager and we had a most enjoyable dinner with them at a restaurant called the Machine Shed. It was really nice of them to contact us when I posted our itinerary going to Estes Park and offer to meet us
. It used to be said, "that you meet the nicest people on a Voyager", and it is still true today.

It was very nice meeting both of you. Maybe next year Tina and I can meet a lot more Voyager members when we know where the rally will be. I put a picture of us 4 in this post of us.

We used to have a Machine Shed here in town. Was good eating!!! Not sure why they closed. Miss it though for breakfast when relatives were in town.

280 miles down.......

Here at Estes at the Rocky Mountain Park Inn. Nice ride here today through Big Thomson Canyon on Rt 34. Ate at a very good Mexican resturant right across the street of the hotel. Started cleaning my 02 Voyager. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Rolled in a bit ago. Got unpacked, undirtied, and in the process of unwinding. Filled up on sopaipillas at Casa Bonita for a late lunch. Took 36 north out of Denver. I bet we hit every stoplight. And there's a bunch!

In Vail this week with Susan. Monday, we took back roads into Aspen via hwy 24 past Leadville, Twin Lakes and Independence Pass hwy 82 @12090'. Maybe HMBDon will get you up there. So glad he showed me how to get there last year. Spent Wednesday in Breckenridge-did some off roading, and took some terrific photos there. We'll be visiting RMNP Thursday, and we hope to see some Voyagers on hwy 34 Trail Ridge Road. Have fun and ride safe

Back home Saturday and have some photos to post here: It was good seeing some of the Gang in Co.

I did not get Mike McGee with Char Jones on the back of his Voy12, nor did I get Ken Knight with Bob Jones on the back of Ken's Voy12 for exhibition 2-up riding. Sometimes you just have to be there!

I've seen Ken and Mike before at the Asheville and Kanab rallies: AVA draws very skilled riders.

Mary Jane and I arrived home about 5:30 this afternoon. Took an extra day getting home because of storms predicted for Eastern Iowa on Sunday. Had dry weather all the way home , at least during the day while we were driving. Had a great time at the rally both riding and meeting everyone. Looking forward to next year in Hurley, Wisconsin.

I think there should be a contest for after rally photos and movies such as this.... Really enjoyed the video, and that great music! Only thing better was being there!
