UClear HBC100 Bluetooth Communicators

Post by Mr Jensee »

Has anyone else had experience using the new UClear HBC100 Bluetooth communicators? I just bought one and a riding buddy has one and they are fantastic. We have clear loud communication for up to a half mile when riding together and each unit can connect to your smart phone for added convenience. To answer the phone all you have to do is say "pickup". Another bonus is that any music you have in your phone can be broadcast thru the helmet speakers with good fidelity. Another thing I like is that it picks up your voice from inside the helmet so you don't need a boom mike. I think I am really going to like this little unit. It has 40 hrs. of standby time and took less than an hour to fully charge when I got it out of the box. Picked it up at Cycle Gear.

They really don't sound too bad, till you try a couple of the other units available out there. Then too you can't bring in the stock radio and CB as there's no auxillary jack.
Dealer for all Air Rider products, and Nolan helmets and headsets.

I thought long and hard about buying the CB unit. However I was deep deep into CB back when it was popular. I didn't relish the idea of having cords to deal with as well as having to encourage my friends to all buy clumsy CB units and install them on their bikes so we could communicate together. I tried a cheaper Bluetooth unit but you couldn't hear what anyone was saying at speed. The UClear unit is heads above what I had before without any of the CB hassle. I don't feel the need to communicate with truckers anymore. BTW who else these days are on CB?
