Re: torque wrench recommendations
I bought mine at Harbor Freight: ft-lbs. and in-lbs., at around $15-$20 each (varies depending upon coupons, and sales). They're both clicker's, and they work well enough. Be sure to tighten them to the point of clicking, twice, to make sure you have the bolt at the set torque. You can spend more money, but for the use they will receive in your amateur garage, the clicker's are good enough, IMO. They are listed as being within 5% tolerance of the stated torque, which is plenty good for me.
Be sure to torque the oil drain plugs properly, as you DO NOT want to over-tighten these. For me, this is the primary use for my torque wrench, tightening the oil drain plugs. I have rarely used it beyond that. The ft-lbs. wrench is necessary for most bolts, while the in-lbs. wrench is needed for the steering head, primarily. Cheers!

On click type torque wrenches remember to set them back to (0) when you are finished with themSgtSlag wrote:I bought mine at Harbor Freight: ft-lbs. and in-lbs., at around $15-$20 each (varies depending upon coupons, and sales). Re: torque wrench recommendations
+1 on Harbor Freight tools - my go-to source for a large portion of my garage tools and equipment. Especially items I will only use infrequently.
