Cooling vest, same idea, just lasts longer (2-3hours in 100f).filbert wrote:An old biker trick is to soak your shirt with water in the bathroom when you gas up. Wear your jacket over the shirt and open zippers to regulate the cooling. If you are on the highway your shirt will be pretty much dry by the next fuel stop. A cheap and effective way of keeping your cool in 90+ highway travel days.
Been weird in northern California yesterday. started at 62F (textile and chaps), then climbed to 99f at for a while, then down to 70f, then back up to upper 80f.
After the textile, mesh with long sleeve shirt on and off.
Came close to doing the vests, but didn't stay hot long enough.

Hanging out for a few days with the inlaws near Antioch, CA (tomorrow doing Bay Area), then on the road again by Friday. Wife wants to go to Pismo Beach for a couple of days, then the run east thru Bakersfield, Barstow, Kingman and into Phoenix. Needles, CA usually hot and gas high also (more than California usual).
Nuff said, thanks for listening,
Ken
