Well it's thurs. eve. ,I just got back from riding to Gibsonburg Oh. to have a look at the green voyager listed on ebay. She is rough,and needs alot of T.L.C. to say the least !
Bike was in a dark garage so I asked to push it outside in the sunlight to look her over. the brake calipers are stuck and the rotors are rusted,so it pushed really hard, battery was dead ,so I could not hear it spin over. The current owner said he had the bike for a year,and it has been sitting in his garage that long ,so it must have been sittin outside through many winters somewhere else because of the amount of rust present.
The good news is that ALL of the engine covers and side covers were it the travel trunk. The rear tire is a Avon venom with good tread,and the front is a dunlop E II also with good tread on it.
I am watching the bidding going up on the ebay post,were are approaching $800. Not sure how much further it may go up before it tops out, the money here would be in parting it out,cause if it were intended to return to her former glory....someone will be putting alot of time and money into this one,
We'll wait and see ...........................tony :-D

Unless you have the garage, the tools, the time and the desire to resurrect an old bike, buying one of these really rough machines is not what I would recommend for anyone, especially if it approaches a grand in price. I have in my garage right now a 125 Yamaha scooter in just such condition that a friend dropped off hoping I could resurrect it. It has been here for a year and the more I look at it the more I want to roll it out to the street for the trash man. 3 years ago I wouldn't feel that way but all I can see right now is dollar signs.

....Of course what "Mr Jensee just stated is sooooooo true ! it sounds great to get a Voyager for under a grand !.... but if your motivation is to part it out ...and the world having one less Voyager XII ,to go down the road.....well that's another whole deal ! I'm watching this ebay thing closely !
I am probably the ONLY person that is watching this sale, with the desire to bring her back to her former glory ! I believe that everyone else that is watching ,is only looking to part her out......taking one more VXII
off the road !.....I will be up at the crack of dawn....watching the conclusion of this sale....,but there comes a point where I have to ask myself ... if it's worth it.....see this post,
http://www.amervoyassoc.org/forum/viewt ... f=5&t=7601" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I can not tell you how many times ,I have done this over the last 30 + years....most times.... straight up LOSS of funds....but ,I will keep doing this, for the love of motorcycles. and living here in the north, it is something to do all winter :gig: ..................tony :-D

Restoring a bike and to flip for a profit is sometimes hard to do. My 87 for sale, asking price is the cost to break even. My time is valuable as it is now knowledge. My restored V65 magna, when the valve seals went south, I parted it out and broke even.

In the last 10 seconds of the ebay auction ,someone outbid my $900. bid and got the bike for $1051.
I recently sold my black goldwing that ran, for less than that . The new owner road away happy as a clam. Oh well maybe next time......................tony :-D

Unless the other bidder looked at the bike, he may be in for a surprise.

I'm thinking one of the many mc salvage places around here are parting the bike out.
I gotta tell ya ,that corbin seat was hard as a brick ! it also came with the stock seats.

There is money to be made parting them out !

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-Voyage ... ash=item3d" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-Kawasaki-V ... 7215&vxp=m" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

just a few pieces in decent shape could bring in some nice money !
