Since I need a replacement rear tire anyway, I decided to try the car tire thingy. Couldn't find the Nexen tire so I went with the Federal. Some have said it has a more substancial sidewall.
Mounting it was easy till I got to the bead setting side. No amount of effort successfully got the job done. Even up to 80 pounds - nothing. So,,, decided to try more....Putting the tire in the back of the pickup and attaching the hose and 'leaving the scene'
I was glad to hear the first pop at about 110 #s. Then when I went to investigate, the other side also popped.
Looks good as can be. Now will install and take the first rides. Stay tuned ' ' ' ' '

Thanks Bill. Got the first 250 in today. Really do like the way it works. Makes the front tire do a little more 'hunting' but other than that it really ROCKS
Went to the driver test area and did some practicing...COULDN'T make the rear tire slide...Just really hauled down in a hurry....
Also stopped here at home to get the Bunkhouse to try.. another WOW
For what I got into it it feels great.

I noticed right away how much more work the front end needed with input once I switched over to the darkside (a little over a year now). This year I switched to the Michelin Commander II on the front. What a huge improvement, the bike is very well balanced. You will love the car tire in the rain, and the Commander II is not slouch either!!
What front tire were you using before the Michelin?

I was using the Dunlop E-3. The front and rear had an O.K. balance when I had E-3 on both ends. The car tire and E-3 never worked well together, I pushed the front end all over the place. Once I went with the Commander II up front, balance between front and rear is better than I have ever had on a XII.
