I just picked up a 2011 Voyager and also had them install the driver headset accessory so I can hook up my new Helmet from J&M. I went to the dealer and hooked everything up and it does not play through my helmet. I told J&M what model I had and they sent me a lower chord with 5 pins. I understand the Voyager to be a 7 pin system. I will be contacting J&M on Monday, but thought I would just make sure I wasn't missing anything. Also, when it does work will it automatically switch over to the helmet headsets when plugged in or is there a setting I need to take the radio to.

Did you read in the manual if the Voyager 1700 has a feature like the 1200 with a headset function button?

Go to Kawasaki's web site. You can download the User/Owner manual for free.

Re: New to me Voyager purchase audio question
Thanks for the responses. now have the correct lower chord and everything works. My question now is how do I get it to play just in my helmet? Right now it also plays in the outside speakers.
Edit......do I just go in and turn the speakers to the off position? I may have answered my own question.
