Post by Bulldogx11 »

Hi, did my brake pads ,on front the lever was spongy. so I heard on hear that it was probably the spring was up in front of the caliper piston ,and it was so I fixed it and the lever is good now. if I push down the spring thing to get it to clear the piston the outer pad sat on the bump of the spring is that ok ? does anyone have a video on how it goes together ? after riding alittle my back brake makes noise -chatter when applied could that be the spring also? thanks for any help

Your chattering brakes may be because of this problem.

Thanks ,I checked the retainer /spring seemed ok ,greased the slides there ok, cleaned the caliper piston worked in and out seemed ok . I used organic pads Still making a little noise ,could it be they just have to break in ? I guess I should try to change the fluid ,do you guys empty the fluid totally or can I just keep adding fluid and bleed it till it comes out clean? thanks for any help

I always remove most of the fluid from the reservoir (leave a little above the intake hole so air is not introduced), add fresh, then bleed until it comes out clear at the bleeder. Make sure all the air is out.
