Insurance?

Post by trikebldr »

My current auto policy for my truck is with AARP (Hartford), but they don't carry bikes.
Anybody have any recommendations for a good carrier to cover both my bike and my truck? I figure that it's cheaper to have both of them under one insurer than separate.
I realize this may bring as many answers as responders, but I've been with Hartford for a LONG time and have no clue who gives the best coverage for bikes anymore.

My house and car are covered by Atlantic States Insurance but Voyager & TimeOut camper thru Progressive.
Cheaper that way for me, my agent is a personal friend and worked it every way to Sunday for me to ensure I got the best coverage for least dollars!

I would recommend shopping around for the best rates. I currently have allstate and kept them when I changed all of my other plans because the cost to change would have tripled. I have had state farm as well. My rate this year is $91 for the year and that is full coverage. I live in Texas

In addition to rates, I would recommend that those who are shopping for insurance also ask about the product.
I just spent hours shopping for new instance for everything. I won't go into details, but I got full coverage, + rider bodily injury for $130 per year. I'm more concerned about that than the bike. A lot of policies won't cover rider injury. JMO.

I have a full Progressive policy that covers replacement of the bike, towing and high liability coverage for only $23 a month. I find that reasonable.

Well, sounds like it's Progressive by a landslide! I guess I'll have to give Flo a call!
Thanks for all the inputs!

Insurance quotes are (at least every time I've tried) free.
Call around and ask several, find an independent agent who works with many companies and let them work for their commission.
My agent works with 16 different companies so that narrows down my work load when she searches rates with them.
